2009 CHAMBER SQUASH CLUB HANDICAP TOURNAMENT RULES

HANDICAP TOURNAMENT RULES

The rules of this tournament are simple - if you understand them - similar to cricket rules i.e. one team goes in and the other goes out and when the team that is in is out then the other team goes in etc.

The winner is the person that drinks most during the tournament.

1. Best of 5 games

2. The STRONGER player must win the match within 40 minutes, with the exception of those listed below whose time limit is either 35 or 30 minutes. If the match has not been completed within these time limits then the weaker player wins the match no matter what the score is.

Strong Weak -13A 0A -5 0 +6

3 If players with the same handicap play against one another there is no time limit.

4. If two AMERICAN handicaps play against one another the American part of the handicap is cancelled and the handicaps subtracted so that the lower handicap player starts off zero.

5. If an American handicap plays against a straight handicap NO ADJUSTMENT IS MADE.

6. If two STRAIGHT handicaps play against one another the handicap is subtracted so that the lower handicap player starts off zero.

7. Under no circumstance does a PLUS handicap change.

8. Handicaps may be adjusted up to and including the second round (on the remote possibility that the dis- organiser has made an error).

9. It is wise to phone your opponent before the match to confirm he has the correct time, day, year and century.
