10th LEAGUE vs Old Eds

We started off with a BIG 16-0 win.

All the boys played very well, Dear Reader which wasn’t surprising as none had any opponents!

I received a very late SMS (at Lunch-time) on Wednesday to advise that they could not muster a team. No request was made for a postponement so I guess we take the points!

We may play them as a friendly if they so request.

We did have a team practice and then enjoyed a pizza/pasta at Doppio’s washed down with some good plonk so the evening wasn’t wasted.

My wife nevertheless complained that I had arrived home so early as it messed up her scrabble evening with a friend....

Overall result: Won 16-0

New Light Meters

The new token operated light meters have been installed at the club, so please note that the magnetic “light cards” will no longer operate the lights. All light cards can be swopped for tokens. Tokens are available at the club from Corlet (think he is back this week), or by contacting me on the number below until John Shannon is back next week. Alternatively Dave Peacock and George Bowen have keys to access the tokens up-stairs at the club. Token will operate the lights for 60 minutes, and the new meters will provide a warning “beep” when you have just 1 minute of lights remaining.

Christmas Wishes

At this time of the year there is a chance to take some time off and reflect on the past 12 months. We hope you take this time to refresh your body and mind and then to come back next year so that we can improve on our good results this year.

So if you are going away, please drive carefully and come back in one piece.

Best wishes to you and your family from the Chamber Exiles Squash Club
