7th League vs Winchester Hills

CHAOS as we went to Winchester and they went to Chamber.

Match result:

5th LEAGUE vs Winchester Hills

Having narrowly lost to Winchester in the first match, the Captain decided to strengthen the team by dropping Feathers.

Chris went on 1^st vs Big Albert fresh from his near success in the lower leagues. However CmC’s legs ran out in the 5^th to lose 2-3

Silver Fox on next against Alan, plunged to 1-2 down and 2-8 in the 4^th (the crowd started to fade away in disappointment). However seeds of doubt were sown with a few choice winners and the 4^th was won 10-8. With Alan demoralized, the 5^th was then a formality for a 3-2 win.

Ryan then came up against a clever player (Darryl) and lost 0-3 which left “baldy” Jeff needing a 3-0 for a points count-out.

Jeff played possibly his best game of the season and did win 3-0 so down to a points count.

Before counting we offered Winchester a draw (in the interests of inter-club spirit) as we didn’t want to win such a close and hard fought match. But after much debate amongst their team they decided to risk the count-out. DAMN, they won by 7 points.

So………..closer than the first round but no cigar.

4th LEAGUE vs Old Eds

We played Eds at Eds. I didn’t get to beat Dennis Bass 27-0 again, Vevek had a go tho.

None of them stayed, we went to their pub, had a burger and a beer and then they brought us the entire bar bill for the night. They wanted us to pay for everybody. We need to play their other side next week. Seems a strong side, they pumped Wits 14 something, which is good for us, but we still have to play them twice.

Anyway, here is the match report:

1) Willem beat Rickie Tomaselli 3-0 (Won the 2^nd from 8-2 down)

2) Gary beat Chris 3-0 (Was 2-0, 8-2 up and next thing was 9-8 down, worked hard to finish in 3)

3) Trevor beat Glen Lazarus 3-2 (Bit tense in the middle, Trevor playing with a broken racquet and going walkabout)

4) Vevek beat Dennis Bass 3-0 (Bit of a soft opponent)
