Weekly Roundup

Well, the mighty have fallen eventually – the Ladies 4th league SLK convertible and the 7th league Juggernaut both came to a shuddering halt. This leaves only 1 undefeated team at the end of the 1st round, that being the 9th league A team (as all squash connoisseurs will know, this is an amazing performance considering the characters making up this team). COTY nomination to Colin Bullen for dropping both his No 1 and his most consistent player for the same match.

Overall possibly the worst week of the season with only 4 teams winning.

On a more serious note the long awaited for, comeback match between Hagger and Loake was scheduled to take place over the weekend, with most tickets sold out weeks ago. However a serious headache suffered by Loake (following a lemonade or two) led to a 1st postponement until Monday evening and then common-sense led to a 2nd postponement due to a fear of injury in the current cold snap. The two “comeback kids” have asked members to be patient and will give plenty of warning before the next postponement match.
