9th League A vs. Chamber B (Postponed Match)

The A Team version.

What can one say; if you are good you are good! We beat the SS Chamber B side in the long awaited, postponed match against our sister side played at the Johannesburg Country Club. The postponement was ‘cos they were not well and it would appear that they are still not well. Michael went on first at 5.30 and won despite a stumble in the third to Gavin, who plays every sport in the world, and was recovering from stiffness following a hectic hockey match at the weekend. Leg muscles from running or arm muscles from drinking. BB takes the court, plays like star which assists Peter in raising his game but not enough to win. B comes back from 8-2 down in the third to race past 10-9 and win in a convincing, professional manner. A real tit of a match and BB is Bruce Bydawell not Bridget Bardot. Paul plays Peter. Peter was not a Fill in for Digby (The A team wishes him a speedy recovery) although he suffered the same fete pulling his wire, sorry his hammy in the second and wished he could have done More. For those who are not quite so sharp, a surname pun! Lastly Graham went on to mitigate the bragging rights and succeeded slightly with “a real hundinga”. Quote from BB who was the scorer and had to often consult, not always of his choice, the committee of referees that were supporting him. Graham got the first 2 and Mark got the second 2 and the Graham got the last in well over an hour, which screwed up any chance of a meal. So they owe us one.
