First game of the season, up against Hope Squash, who play out of UJ Doornfontein Campus.
Noted that although it was a Chamber home game, Hope has arranged that all their games will be played in Doornfontein, due to transport problems!!
Johan, playing at #3, up first against a youngster, possibly in his teens, but maybe not. Went up 2 games, both very close, then ran out of steam to lose in the fifth. 2-3.
Brian, at # 1, could not get into the game, made too many mistakes, losing 0-3.
Paddy, at # 2, on adjacent court, managed a 3-0 win for the team.
Bob, at #4, not at his best on very slippery court surface, went down 0-3.
So not a good start to the season, final result losing 5-12.
Not much to choose from in the area for supper, so enjoyed great Portuguese fare at the Troyeville Hotel.
Chatted up a few of the local chicks, roughed up many of the local okes, and warned them all WE WOULD BE BACK!!!!!!!
Seriously food is good and Sunday lunch R120 eat as much as you like.
