5thth League vs Winchester Hills

Ryan made a welcome return at four against Eugene. It was a good thing that Ryan was able to clinch it in straight sets as the impromptu shower on the floorboards was testimony to the amount of running done on the night. It was a lot tougher than the scoreboard suggests but Ryan played extremely well. (3-1)

Flip on next at two found the going even tougher against a guy who played a similar game to Flip but just made fewer errors on the night. A strong finish allowed Flip to edge the first game 16-14 but thereafter the errors started to creep in and the next two were lost quite easily. The last game was a much closer affair but the final game was lost 13-15. (1-3)

Fergus on at one. He was there and thereabouts in each of the three games and even improved from 12 to 13 to 14 points per game but in each was pipped to the post by a guy he could well have beaten. (0-3)

Last up was Richard at three knowing that a three love victory could still pull it through for the team. Unfortunately it was three love, just not in favour of Chambers! Hopefully this was my worst game of the season over and done with. (0-3)

Lesson for the night - never assume that things can only get better.
