9th League A vs. Pirates

A wonderful meal and drinks were had, following the team’s 14th win from 14 matches, at La Belle Torro where we (only three as Dirk had to leave to feed Simon [1]) were hosted by the Pirates team and supporter. She was aptly named Yanic (phonetically Ja Nick) and her boyfriend got a few during the game and I guess some later. And yes Mark was 8-5 up in the fifth coasting to victory and 16 points but for some reason the fat lady stopped singing (actually she was a 24 year old, sylph-like, slender, s*** girl) and Mark squandered a hat trick of match points. A loss of 2 points maybe costly at season end; very similar to Michael’s faux pas last week. Dirk played a plank (of Max fame!) and was a replacement, George thanks you, for Paul as he twisted his ankle running; take note Bruce. George told Dirk to win and get as many points as possible and he sure did winning each game to 10 after being down in each one. George played first and complete with a stylish haircut, probably in preparation for his second half century (birthday 10th of next month) played well winning in five taking the last to nil as it was encroaching on drinking time. Michael was back to his winning ways, and “not turning like the QE2 this week” quote team member and won in 4 games. A good final result and the team is feverishly practising for the match against their arch rivals Southern Suburbs in two weeks time.
